Description: JESSUP PR is a rapidly growing Southern California–based media relations agency specializing in food & beverage and musical product brands. We develop strategic campaigns that deliver impactful coverage across top-tier consumer lifestyle, business, and trade media.
We work to secure earned media coverage in top outlets including CNN, The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, Men’s Health, Good Housekeeping, Forbes, BuzzFeed, Prevention, Engadget, LifeHacker and many more. These media hits come from curated relationships with journalists and editors, bolstered by strategic storytelling, consistent pitching, and a strong understanding of what drives newsworthy narratives.
Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in all aspects of the agency including but not limited to:
Media Coverage Monitoring: Google searches & setting up alerts for client mentions, competitor mentions, client coverage opportunities, coverage write ups, etc.
Client Upkeep: Supporting reports and agendas, coordinating product sample submissions for editors
Media & Influencer List Building: Finding editors and influencers for future pitching using Muckrack
Social Media Management for JESSUP accounts: LinkedIn and Instagram drafts, creation, posting
PR Tactic Brainstorming: Participating in idea generation for client pitches, pitch writing and events
Brand Management: Assist in maintaining JESSUP PR’s brand voice across digital platforms
Copyediting: Proofreading and preparing presentation materials
Website Upkeep: Writing materials and copyediting to supplement website traffic, SEO and GEO
Engagement Tracking: Monitor social media and website analytics
PR Tactic Brainstorming: Participating in idea generation for client pitches, pitch writing and events
Research: Media pricing and inquiries for external resources, awards, investigating events & trade shows, etc.
Pitching: May be given the opportunity to pitch JESSUP contacts on a case-by-case basis, depending on growth and skill development

Qualifications:
Prefer a recent graduate or college senior/junior majoring in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or related discipline
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, self-starter and a genuine curiosity for learning
Strong oral, written and interpersonal public relations/communications skills
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Effective time management skills and the ability to reprioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Familiar with Google Workspace including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets
Familiar with SEO, GEO, LinkedIn, Instagram, Slack, Muckrack, AI tools
