Position: Internal Public Relations Intern - Spring 2025
Location: Remote or Hybrid (LA)
Time commitment: 8-10 hours/week, semi-flexible schedule
Duration: 4 months

We work to secure earned media coverage in top outlets including CNN, The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, Men’s Health, Good Housekeeping, Forbes, BuzzFeed, Prevention, Engadget, LifeHacker and many more. These media hits come from curated relationships with journalists and editors, bolstered by strategic storytelling, consistent pitching, and a strong understanding of what drives newsworthy narratives.
Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in all aspects of the agency including but not limited to:
Brand Management: Assist in maintaining JESSUP PR’s brand voice across digital platforms
Social Media Management: LinkedIn and Instagram content drafts, creation, posting
Website Upkeep: Copyediting and content to supplement website traffic and SEO
Engagement Tracking: Monitor social media and website analytics
Industry Monitoring: Monitor trends in PR, media, marketing, natural product, music, consumer lifestyle industries
Pitching Calendar management: Gathering & updating editorial plan information from media websites, looking for coverage opportunities
PR Tactic Brainstorming: Participating in idea generation for client pitches, pitch writing and events

Qualifications:
Prefer a recent graduate or college senior majoring in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or related discipline

Strong oral and written communication skills
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Effective time management skills and the ability to reprioritize and meet deadlines
Familiar with Canva or Adobe Express
Familiar with Google Workspace including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets

Pitching Calendar management: Gathering & updating editorial plan information from media websites, looking for coverage opportunities
PR Tactic Brainstorming: Participating in idea generation for client pitches, pitch writing and events
Pitching: May be given the opportunity to pitch JESSUP contacts on a case-by-case basis, depending on growth and skill development
